Time to Soar – When loss creates new beginnings.

Autobiography by Renee d’Offay

Time To Soar is the captivating and inspirational story of Renee d’Offay. It is a story about loss, courage and love. A must-read for anyone who has experienced any significant obstacle, and could do with a dose of motivation. This book is an amazing reminder that determination and love can overcome life’s most challenging hurdles. I dare you to read this book and not be touched by it. ~ Julie Postance, author of Breaking the Sound Barriers

Renee d’Offay is an inspiring Deaf role model who has touched the hearts of many through sharing her challenging experiences. She is a qualified Teacher of the Deaf, and LOTE Auslan teacher living in Geelong, Australia, with her husband Jason, and their dog, Ouzo.

Renee was born thirteen minutes before her twin sister Jane on December 22, 1982. She grew up with her family in the small Victorian coastal town of Breamlea. Renee was born and lived with natural hearing for nineteen years before she contracted meningococcal meningitis in 2002, which left her profoundly deaf. This life-changing experience encouraged Renee to have a new outlook on life, and started her on a journey for which she could never be prepared.

Renee d’Offay – who is known by family and friends as ‘Neighsy’ – has written this book to share her life experiences, struggles, and opportunities after losing all natural hearing in both her ears. With this book, Renee hopes her audience will find some inspiration and motivation within their own lives, as well as an understanding as to what it can be like to deal with loss and life’s unexpected challenges.
